Terms of Service
Effective date: July 13, 2026
1. Agreement and scope
These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of GigPulse, including the website, Canadian gig-worker tax calculator, articles, and related content. By using GigPulse, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site.
2. Planning and educational tool only
GigPulse is an informational and educational planning tool. It is not tax, legal, accounting, financial, investment, or professional advice, and it is not tax filing software. No use of GigPulse creates a professional-client, advisor-client, fiduciary, employment, agency, or other advisory relationship between you and GigPulse or its creator.
The calculator is not designed to determine your final tax liability or to prepare, submit, or support a tax return. Do not use an estimate as the amount to report, pay, claim, or withhold without independently verifying it.
3. Estimates, assumptions, and changes
Calculations are estimates based on selected assumptions, publicly available government information, and the information you enter. The calculator does not account for every credit, deduction, benefit, income source, filing status, provincial rule, GST/HST obligation, EI matter, or personal circumstance. Tax rules, rates, forms, guidance, and interpretations can change at any time.
Although GigPulse is maintained with the intention of keeping information current, GigPulse does not warrant that any content or calculation is complete, current, accurate, error-free, or suitable for your situation. You are responsible for checking primary government sources and obtaining professional advice before acting.
4. Your responsibility
You are solely responsible for your tax filings, payments, records, elections, deductions, business decisions, and compliance obligations. You are also responsible for reviewing your inputs, understanding the calculator assumptions, keeping supporting records, and verifying results with the Canada Revenue Agency, the relevant provincial or territorial authority, a qualified tax professional, or CRA-certified software.
5. No warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, GigPulse is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without express, implied, or statutory warranties, including warranties of accuracy, availability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, or uninterrupted operation. GigPulse does not promise that the site will be secure, available, compatible with your device, or free of defects, omissions, malware, or interruptions.
6. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, GigPulse, Tyler Heinrichs, and their contributors, service providers, and affiliates will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, punitive, or other loss or damage arising from or related to your use of, inability to use, or reliance on GigPulse, including tax, interest, penalties, filing costs, lost income, lost data, business interruption, or professional fees, even if the possibility of such loss was known.
Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude or limit liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law. Some legal protections may not apply to every user or jurisdiction.
7. Indemnity
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless GigPulse, Tyler Heinrichs, and their contributors, service providers, and affiliates from claims, liabilities, losses, damages, costs, and reasonable expenses arising from your breach of these terms, misuse of the site, violation of law, infringement of another person’s rights, or reliance on an estimate contrary to these terms.
8. Acceptable use
You must not misuse the site, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, scrape or overload it, introduce malicious code, impersonate another person, use it for unlawful purposes, or represent GigPulse content as professional advice or as your own tax service.
9. Content and intellectual property
GigPulse and its original software, branding, design, text, and content are owned by or licensed to GigPulse unless otherwise stated. You may use the site for personal, lawful, informational purposes. You may not copy, republish, sell, modify, reverse engineer, or commercially exploit the site or its content without permission, except where applicable law permits.
10. Third-party services and links
GigPulse may link to government websites, third-party services, or other resources. GigPulse does not control or endorse those resources and is not responsible for their content, availability, privacy practices, security, or accuracy. Your use of a third-party service is governed by its own terms and policies.
11. Changes and availability
GigPulse may update, suspend, restrict, or discontinue any part of the site without notice. These terms may also be updated from time to time. The revised version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Your continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
12. Contact
Questions about these terms can be sent to gigpulsecontact@gmail.com. This address is for site and calculator questions and is not a source of individualized tax advice.
These Terms of Service are a plain-language starting point and should be reviewed and adapted by a Canadian lawyer before you rely on them as a legal contract.
